Retiring from Kit Making (for now?)

As I mentioned on my Facebook fanpage a couple months ago, I have decided to close my personal store, which was the last place you could purchase my scrap kits. This was a decision that was months in the making and not one that I made lightly. I told myself after I left CDO last year that if during 2016 I didn’t get back into scrapping like I was in the past few years, then I would close my store down.

In the past year, I have created less than 10 kits in total. This is not because of drama or anything to do with the community at all. I want to put that out there. The community has been absolutely wonderful to me and I want to thank them for the support over the years. I’m not leaving it by any means as I plan to stick around as a tagger and my kits aren’t gone forever. I may find myself in other stores down the line, just not my own and something low-key where I am under no pressure to perform all the time.

This was a decision I made in regards to my personal life and where I’m at in terms of personal time constraints. I graduated back in May with my Bachelors and shortly thereafter, I started working full time as an Outreach Coordinator for a sexual violence resource center. The work I do is incredibly rewarding, time consuming, but is also mentally draining. Because of it, I found myself unable to create scrap kits like I had in the past. I simply don’t have the time or energy to devote to the creation of the kits or the advertising that comes with it. Scrapping was never a full time job to me and it just came to a point where I was wasting money keeping my store open.

With all of this being said, I’ll still be around tagging and creating little goodies as I go along. I may also get back into writing tutorials. I’m not going to make promises as to how often I’ll get things done and I will most likely not join any CTs unless I can just make pretty tags. I have a full time job that I love and that comes first.

Thanks for the support over the years and I hope you guys can understand that it’s just time for me to take the next step in my life! ♥

Run the Runway Template

abstractcreations_runtherunwaytemplate

Hello! Since I’m not making kits anymore, I thought I’d revive this old blog and try updating with templates and other goodies as time allowed. I got inspired by one of my favorite drag queens, Miss Fame, so I made this template. It’s in psd format so anyone can use it. I just ask that you direct people here to download it.

Thanks!
